Workshop: Butterfly Bouquet

Cheryl Matzen will teach participants how to create their own beautiful Butterfly Bouquet quilt utilizing the tools and techniques she has created.

This class is for people who like to get down to business and try new things. You may discover that things that look difficult to do are really quite easy. You’ll learn ways to improve your machine piecing skills, i.e., tips and tricks for perfect points and aligned straight seams.

You’ll learn how to take advantage of the multiple options using the disappearing block to stretch and create your own quilt designs.

You’ll get to * try my stencils before you buy * to make your HSTs for this charming table topper. These stencils might just change the way you make quilts forever.

Using a water-soluble paper technique, I’ll share how to make perfect motif edges fast and easy; yes, I said “fast and easy.” Learn how to make invisible hand applique stitches, or easy machine applique techniques.

You’ll learn the Sew then Cut method for the charming wavy border, and easy cutting, sewing and pressing bias binding strips.

The methods in this class are designed to build your confidence and get you ready to play. Your experience awaits. Hope to see you and friends in class.

Cheryl Matzen is an award winning quilter, lecturer, teacher, quilt designer, and the inventor of a revolutionary set of quilting tools, the HSTSystem. After retiring from the fast paced high-tech industry and raising her family, Cheryl started her own business, Quilt-N-A-Flash; an uncharted effort for her stirred by her real passion, quilting.
