The Root Connection: My Journey as a Quilter
A graphic designer in her native India, Sujata always loved color, pattern and textures. As a young bride in the 1960s America, her delight in these lay dormant until discovering quilting in the 1990s. She is now known for both her hand-quilted Kawandi works as well as her award-winning free form quilt designs in bright colors. Her book, Cultural Fusion Quilts, sets out many of her joyful patterns which reflect the influences of many cultures. We’ll learn all about the evolution of her quilted art in this talk.
