Learn the basics of English Paper Piecing, but go home with a project that is uniquely yours. We’ll be working with shapes based on 60° angles: hexagons, diamonds, jewels, triangles and more. This is the fun side of geometry! Enjoy fussy cutting with Tina’s EPP tool, The Wonder Window. Suitable for beginners, this class will also engage experienced hand stitchers
Supplies Fabric: assorted scraps, charm squares, fat eighths or fat quarters. Consider starting with a favorite print as a guide for choosing coordinating colors. Bring at least 4 coordinating fabrics Additional fabric and batting will be needed after class to complete your project.
Fabric glue pen and refills, any brand Needles: Straw or Milliner size 9, 10 or 11
Thin thread such as Superior Bottom Line (60 wt poly) or Wonderl DecoBob in a neutral color
Fabric Scissors
Tape: paper tape or masking tape, optional Thimble that works for you
$10 class kit fee covers paper templates and handouts. EPP tool kits as well as individual items will be available for purchase from Tina. Please note that tool kits do not include fabric. Items may vary based on availability.
Fabric Options Almost any medium-scale print will produce lovely fussy-cut shapes. Here are some examples of jewel shapes made into hearts. Look for motifs that are approximately 1.5 -2” long. Stripes and symmetrical motifs are especially fun to work with.
