DESCRIPTION:Zoom Lecture and Trunk Show \n\n\n\nTaste Test: Unexpected Sampler Quilts \n\n\n\nBrand new and so much fun! I make sampler quilts of various types because I love the variety. Each quilt is unique and holds my interest from the first stitch to the last. \n\n\n\nI used to think that sampler quilts were just various blocks in rows with sashing. I could not have been more wrong! \n\n\n\nThere’s something for everyone in this trunk show. From improvisation to lovely tradition\, from modern quilting to quilting bee quilts\, each quilt holds a few lessons about how to pull together a bunch of blocks or rows or shapes\, or whatever! \n\n\n\nThere are bed-size quilts and wall quilts\, fancy quilting and basic stitches\, bright colors and demure palettes. \n\n\n\nThe lecture will be at the church over Zoom using the big screens!

We’ll learn to cut\, fold\, place and sew the patches to make a bullseye Pine Burr. This style of 3-D quilt has been made by African Americans and others in different cultures for decades and they are truly stunning. You won’t believe how fun and relaxing this traditional technique can be! \n\n\n\nWe will be meeting at the church while Diane teaches virtually.
