It was then that she taught herself to quilt. \n\n\n\nBetsy began teaching in 1990 and she shares her passion for quiltmaking and reproducing 19th Century quilts through teaching\, presentations and bed-turnings. She is the author of several books – her latest being Classic and Heirloom Quilts published by It’s Sew Emma\, and the coming-very-soon Treasury of Quilts from Martingale. Her previous books include: Gone to Texas\, Quilts from a Pioneer Woman’s Journal\, Lizzie’s Legacy and Just Treats\, No Tricks with Kansas City Star. She also co-authored History Repeated\, Block Exchange Quilts by the 19th Century Patchwork Divas. From improvisation to lovely tradition\, from modern quilting to quilting bee quilts\, each quilt holds a few lessons about how to pull together a bunch of blocks or rows or shapes\, or whatever! \n\n\n\nThere are bed-size quilts and wall quilts\, fancy quilting and basic stitches\, bright colors and demure palettes. \n\n\n\nThe lecture will be at the church over Zoom using the big screens!

DESCRIPTION:  “Just A Big Ole Tote” \n\n\n\nWe will be weaving a large tote with a woven solid base of 8″x16″x13″. The base will be locked in with 3 rows of quarter inch flat oval reed. The sides will be woven with 10 rows of 3/4 inch flat reed with 3 sets of 3 rows of dyed quarter flat oval reed as an accent pattern. This tote has a 10 inch open notch push in handle.
